🐮 What is Lasso?

Lasso is a grant-writer-in-a-box for the agricultural sector to find, apply for, and win grants, particularly for emissions-reduction technology.

Why does this matter? A large share of agricultural greenhouse gas emissions are methane. Methane is a very fast-acting greenhouse gas; it is 80x more potent than CO2 in a 20-year timeframe. If we can stop methane emissions quickly, we are in a much stronger position to stop climate change.

<aside> 👋 Who are we… and how did we get here? The founders, Nicole and Dávid, are Stanford MBAs with experience across engineering, climate, machine learning, and consulting. We have won awards from both MIT and Stanford, been featured on Bloomberg, Forbes, Poets & Quants, the BMO Sustainability Leaders and North American Ag podcast, and have advisors from Bill Gates's climate fund and leading research institutions like UW Madison and Syracuse University’s Dynamic Sustainability Lab.

👩‍💻 What is the role?

We are looking for a full-time Manager of Grant Operations and Technology in our growing team. This role allows you to gain broader, exciting responsibilities as you show your skills. In addition to managing grants and customers, as you progress in the role, you will gain responsibilities to improve our software tools and processes for grant writing and work with our team, external parties, and other grant writers to achieve these goals. You’ll help shape our story: you will work closely with co-founders and get a flavor of how a startup is run day-to-day.

  • Write grants: Take full ownership of the grant-writing process, including:
    • Work directly with customers to understand their projects and business, and collect data and documentation for grant applications
    • Fully understand all calculations involved in grant applications
    • Prepare and submit grant applications, ensuring compliance with grant-providing agencies’ requirements.
    • Review grant applications to maintain a high standard of quality
    • Communicate with grant-providing agencies to clarify requirements and submit grants

  • Improve our tools and processes:
    • Propose ideas and provide feedback to improve the overall grant-writing process.
    • Enhance and optimize tools and processes for writing and managing grants in collaboration with our product team
  • Collaborate with others
    • Be the main point of contact for grant-providing agencies to understand requirements, and get updates on submitted grants
    • Oversee task allocation, manage workflows, and review the work of other grant writers to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
